RTTNews - Singapore's seasonally adjusted jobless rate stood at a revised 3.3% in the first quarter, up from 3.2% reported in April and above the 2.5% in the fourth quarter, the Ministry of Manpower said Monday.

During the first quarter, an estimated 95,700 residents lost their jobs, a third more than the 71,800 in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the total employment dropped by 6,200 in the three months ending March, representing the first quarterly contraction in six years, as the number of workers hired was lower than the number who left their jobs, the Ministry said.
