RTTNews - S.Korea's industrial production rose 0.7% in July from a year earlier, reversing a 1.2% drop seen in June, the National Statistical Office said Monday. Economists expected a 1.1% fall.

Compared to the previous month, output rose 2%, slower than a 5.7% rise in June.

Shipments slipped 1.4% on a yearly basis, but climbed 0.9% month-on-month. Inventories were down 15% year-on-year, but grew 1.1% from the previous month.

Meanwhile, the services industry activity climbed 0.8% year-on-year, slower than a 2.8% growth seen in June. On a monthly basis, the services activity fell 0.8%, in contrast to a 1.9% increase in the preceding month.

Further, in July, the statistical office said the composite leading index rose 1.5% month-on-month compared to a 2.6% rise in June. At the same time, the composite coincident index was up 1.4% compared to a 2% growth in the previous month.
