After a faulty launch on Tuesday, Skype is back in the App Store bringing video chat, instant messaging and SMS to the iPad.

The application went live on Tuesday only to be retracted quickly with a message from the company saying "To ensure your best Skype experience, we've temporarily removed Skype for iPad which went live prematurely today," the company said via Twitter.

The App, which has been expected for over a month, was restored today adapted to the higher resolution iPad screen. Skype for the iPad sends and receives calls, including video calls, over either a Wi-Fi or 3G data connection. It is also compatible in multiple platforms including PCs, Macs, iPads, iPhones, and Android devices.
