RTTNews - Slovakia's economic sentiment indicator decreased 2.5 percentage points from April to 66.3 in May, to reach its lowest value since the series began in January 1997, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic said Friday.

Negative development in the sentiment indicator was affected by decrease in the confidence indicators of services, construction and industry. Year-on-year, the sentiment indicator declined by 31.2 percentage was down by 34.1 percentage points from the long-term average.

In May, the industrial confidence indicator decreased to minus 26.3 fro minus 25.7 in April and the construction confidence declined to minus 50 from minus 48.5. Services confidence indicator moved down to minus 24 from minus 20.

At the same time, the retail confidence indicator improved to minus 20 from minus 22 in the preceding month, and the consumer confidence indicator increased to minus 37.2 from minus 43.9.
