Friday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic said in a report that the economic sentiment indicator declined 3.4 percentage points to 73.1 in March from 76.5 in February. This is the lowest reading since January 1997.

The economic sentiment indicator dropped by 26.9 percentage points on an annual basis in March, and by 27.3 percentage points compared to the long-term average.

In March, the consumer confidence indicator increased to minus 46.2 from minus 47.2 in February. Industrial confidence indicator stood at minus 25, down from minus 22 in February.
