Friday, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said in a report that the economic sentiment indicator dropped by 1 percentage point in April compared to the previous month. This was the lowest value in the whole observed period.

The economic sentiment indicator decline in April was mainly due to drop in service and manufacturing confidence, the statistical office said.

The sentiment indicator decreased 43% in April compared to the previous year.

The manufacturing confidence indicator fell a seasonally adjusted 2 percentage points compared to the previous month. On an annual basis, the indicator dropped 38%.

Similarly, the services confidence indicator decreased by 4 percentage points compared to the previous month. Compared to April 2008 the indicator decreased 53 percentage points.

Meanwhile, the consumer confidence indicator increased by one percentage point in March compared to February.
