RTTNews - Tuesday, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia announced that the gross domestic product or GDP dropped a seasonally and working day adjusted 6.4% sequentially in the first quarter, compared with a 4.1% decline in the previous quarter. By contracting for the second straight quarter, the Slovenian economy entered a recession in the first quarter. A year ago, the GDP was up 1.9%.

Year-on-year, the GDP decreased 8.5% in the first quarter, after falling 0.8% in the fourth quarter. A year earlier, the GDP had grown 5.7%.
