Inspired by classical ballet, high-end fashion designer Zang Toi will be marching a pallet of blue, pink, navy and black down this year’s runway for his Spring 2014 collection. Toi, who is not often inspired by people, used one of his models, American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Cory Stearns, as his muse.

With his meticulous eye for detail and subtlety, Toi created a mixture of elegant red carpet dresses and wearable separates for the collection that translated dance to apparel, but skipped the frilly tutus one might expect. Always a businessman, Toi revealed the importance of creating the show-stopping piece, but balancing them with his wearable staples for a collection that boasts something for every woman.

Toi invited IBTimes TV to his studio in Manhattan to see where the magic happens. With his creative team behind him he calls "Zang’s Angels," we got a glimpse into the creative and dramatic world of Zang Toi.
