Nicole Elizabeth “Snooki” LaValle (née Polizzi) may be embracing a healthier lifestyle these days. Since the reality star is looking thinner now compared to her “Jersey Shore” days, some may be wondering if she’s starving herself again, knowing that she’s admitted to battling anorexia as a teen.

On Sunday, the “Snooki & JWoww” alum set the record straight via Twitter when a fan told her that she needs to eat. The fan wrote the comment after seeing Snooki’s post about the winter animal ears headband that’s been added to the latter’s The Snooki Shop collection.

In response to the fan’s comment, JWoww’s BFF tweeted that she is really eating. She went on to clarify that her current diet comprises of “eating clean and healthy” food because she now lives a healthy lifestyle. However, she did mention that she still enjoys pizza every once in a while.

This is not the first time that Snooki got called out for being skinny. In July 2013, the mom of two shocked everyone when she lost a lot of post-baby weight just shortly after giving birth to her son Lorenzo in 2012. At the time, she revealed to People that she lost 20 pounds in two months due to breastfeeding, and she also hit the gym seven days a week.

Despite explaining that she was living a healthy life, many were still fueling rumors that she was “too skinny” and unhealthy. Hence, she once again defended herself from her body-shaming critics in September 2013 and told In Touch Weekly: “People are jerks. I don’t look emaciated — I look healthy. My arms still jiggle when I wave. I’m 4-foot-9, which is the size of a third-grader, so weighing 96 pounds is normal for me.”

In the following month, Snooki admitted that she used to battle anorexia when she was still a teen cheerleader. “Cheerleading was my life in high school but it wasn’t always easy for me,” she told E! News. Revealing how she developed the disorder, Snooki said that it was because she felt threatened by the 70-pound freshmen girls who were trying out for the team.

“I started eating one salad a day, and then it became, like, one cracker a day, and then it became just one grape a day,” the reality star recalled. “And then…just not eating at all for three days. It was a really, really bad time for me.”
