A pop and lock dancer named Inyoung Lee will be taking the “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 stage on Monday, June 19.

In the teaser released by FOX for episode 2, the contestant, also called Dassy, performs a unique routine to the song, “Big Spender,” from the 1966 Broadway musical “Sweet Charity.” After her performance, newbie judge Vanessa Hudgens was left speechless. Fellow judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy were also impressed by Dassy’s dance number. By the looks of it, she will get a ticket to the Academy.

Meanwhile, the FOX dance reality TV competition premiered last week and introduced a slew of new dancers. One of the most emotional performances came from Darius Hickman. The contemporary dancer grew up in a toxic environment, with his mom being a drug user and a domestic abuse victim. He was raised by his aunt for the most part and turned to dance to help deal with his difficulties in life.

Russian sisters Anastasiia and Viktoriia’s modern dance also wowed all three judges. The sisters were so in sync, and this made their performance even more visually pleasing. They also mixed humor into their dance while trying to tell a story and drive a point across. It is no surprise that they later received a ticket to the Academy.

Just like Darius, Anastasiia and Viktoriia, Latin ballroom dancers Kristina and Vasily also made it to the next round. They will be joined by hip-hop dancer Robert Green, jazz performer Alexis Gilbert and contemporary breakdancer Mark Villaver.

Just like in the previous seasons, those who make it to the Academy will be trained by choreographer Mandy Moore. Each one of them will be asked to perform styles that may not be familiar to them. Their performances will be followed by an elimination round, and only a few dancers will have the chance to work with an All-Star. In the end, only one dancer will be crowned as Season 14’s winner.

Last season, Kida Burns became the youngest winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” since he was part of Season 13’s “Next Generation.”
