Sons of Anarchy Season 7
You'll never believe how fans reacted to Tara's death. FX/Sons of Anarchy

“Sons of Anarchy” concluded its Season 6 finale with a bang – or should we say a stab? Yes, that’s a reference to the bloody demise of Maggie Siff’s character, Tara, who was brutally killed off in “A Mother’s Work.” We still can hear the gut-wrenching crunch of Tara’s skull as Gemma jabbed a carving fork into her ear. But according to Siff, who was recently nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, there’s something even eerier than having her character murdered by her TV husband’s mother.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress dished on everything from Tara’s nail-biting park confrontation with Jax to the Season 7 finale of “SoA.” But out of all the juicy scoop Siff teased, her most mind-blowing revelation was how fans reacted to her character’s death on the hit FX series.

“I’m not a big social media person, but in terms of what people have said to me out and about on the street, I get everything from, ‘I can’t believe they killed you off. How could they do that? I’m done,’ to ‘You had to go,’” she said.

But here’s where things start to get weird:

“I saw Katey [Sagal] the other day, and she said she went to a fan gathering, and people were coming up to her with carving forks to sign,” Siff revealed the bone-chilling tidbit. “People have different investments in different characters, but people were definitely shocked and upset to some degree or other.”

Viewers will remember Tara finding Gemma lurking in her kitchen after Jax’s wife had just been cleared of criminal charges. A brutal fight ensued that involved an iron, a dirty sink and the lethal carving fork.

“It had to be done,” Gemma said to Eli after she ended Tara's life. “I have work to do. She did this.” That's when Eli revealed that Tara had not in fact ratted, as Gemma previously assumed. Juice then stepped in, shooting the sheriff and adding more blood to the drenched crime scene.

Siff concluded the interview, explaining that although she has a “vague understanding” of how the final season of “SoA” will conclude, she’s not interested in reading any scripts to spoil the show’s anticipated ending.

“Kurt [Sutter] and I had talked about what was happening, and he sort of told me some ideas he had about what this season would look like,” she said. “But I don’t want to read scripts. I want to see it with everybody else. I’m excited. It’s going to be weird and kind of great to just watch it on television.”

Guess there’s a silver lining to being drowned and stabbed to death after all!
