Earlier this year, Sony launched the Xperia XA2 and the XA2 Ultra. Now, the company has launched the Xperia XA2 Plus, which is a mid-range Android smartphone designed specifically for multimedia.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus comes with a 6-inch full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It features slimmer bezels and it has metallic finish and an anodized aluminum frame that gives the handset premium look and feel.

Inside, the Xperia XA2 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It also supports microSD cards of up to 400GB. It’s also packing a 3,580mAh battery that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology through its USB Type-C port, according to 9To5Google.

On the back, it has a rear-mounted circular fingerprint scanner just beneath the main camera. The camera comes with a Sony Exmor RS 23-megapixel sensor, which supports an ISO sensitivity of 12,800. The camera is able to record 4K videos and 120fps slow motion videos. Up front, the Xperia XA2 Plus comes with an 8-megapixel camera outfitted with a 120-degree super wide-angle lens. Not only can users fit more people in a selfie with this camera, but it can also offer “Portrait” mode and add artificial bokeh and beauty features.

The one feature that makes the Xperia XA2 Plus stand out from its predecessors is that it’s the first smartphone in Sony’s mid-range lineup to include High-Resolution Audio technology. This is made possible by Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, which is able to upscale MP3s and other compressed sound files to near high-resolution sound quality. Bluetooth streaming has also been improved with Sony’s LDAC feature.

“Our super mid-range line inherits everything we love about the Sony innovations at the premium end of our portfolio,” Sony Mobile Communications executive deputy president Hideyuki Furumi said. “Xperia XA2 Plus further improves on that with a reimagined 18:9 display, Sony’s Hi-Res Audio and powerful camera technology, to offer a unique content consumption and creation device for consumers at this section of the market.”

The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus will be available in four color options: silver, black, gold and green. The handset will go on sale sometime in late August, but pricing hasn’t been shared by Sony yet, according to Android Police.
