A new leak from @ViziLeaks is showcasing the alleged Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact. It is worth reminding that this credible tipster has released several other Xperia Z5 related leaked images in the past.

Earlier leaks pointed to a September release timeframe at the IFA 2015 in Berlin. Needless to say, this timeframe helps Sony to join the other expected high-end releases like the Apple iPhone 6s, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5. In the meantime, @ViziLeaks’ initial set of leaks pointed to an image showcasing the Z5 and the iPhone 6 placed next to each other. The next leak showed the alleged fingerprint scanners that are believed to be housed in the device.

The new leak from the same source shows the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact from the tail-end. Going by the leaked image, the coming Sony devices will not feature the much-hyped USB Type-C ports; instead, the traditional microUSB ports will be part of the device, says Phone Arena.

As feared, there is no visible flap on the ports of the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact. This means, there could be two possibilities. Either, the handset will not boast any IP rating that translates to not having dust- or water-proof exterior, or it may emulate the Xperia M5, which features flapless ports but is water-resistant.

Mobi Picker says the handset will feature a large 5.5-inch display, along with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. This display configuration translates to a pixel density of 401 ppi. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and backed by 3 GB of RAM.

For memory capacity, the Xperia Z5 will likely come equipped with 32 GB of built-in storage space. Furthermore, the device will sport the standard 20.7 MP rear-facing sensor and an impressive 8 MP snapper at the front. As mentioned earlier, this smartphone will boast a fingerprint scanner to keep pace with the counterparts from Apple and Samsung.

Sony has not confirmed the Xperia Z5 or Z5 Compact specifications or features thus far.
