Sophia Grace Brownlee is taking the entertainment industry by storm. The 10-year-old British native, who went from virtually obscurity to YouTube singing sensation to TV celebrity within the course of two years, is confirmed to star alongside Hollywood A-listers in the upcoming film “Into the Woods.”

Brownlee’s uncle, Lucas Brownlee, confirmed the news via Twitter Tuesday. According to his statement, Sophia Grace, best known for performing rapper Nicki Minaj’s song “Super Bass” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in October 2011 and subsequent appearances on "Ellen," will be playing the storybook character Little Red Riding Hood on the silver screen. A rep for the young performer reconfirmed the news to Playbill.com Wednesday.

The fantasy musical, which is slated for a December 2014 release, follows the story of a witch’s attempts to teach fairytale characters life lessons. Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep has already sealed the lead role, with Chris Pine of “Star Trek” playing Prince Charming and Academy Award-nominated actress Anna Kendrick as Cinderella. “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp, 50, is slated to star alongside the YouTube celebrity as "The Wolf."

Brownlee made her acting debut in June alongside her frequent sidekick and self-classified “hype girl,” Rosie Grace McClelland, in the Nickelodeon series “Sam & Cat.” The twosome guest-starred on one episode of the sitcom with the show's stars, Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy.

Since Brownlee's rise to fame, she has continued her career on YouTube with the channel “SophiaGraceBrownlee." As of Wednesday, the page had 271,000 subscribers and more than 82.9 million page views. While the young singer’s forte is covering other artist's hit songs, Brownlee released her first original single and official music video, “Girls Just Gotta Have Fun,” earlier this year on YouTube.
