“The Sound of Music” celebrated its 50th anniversary Monday. Its iconic songs, still sung today, are part of what made the movie such a sensation. It won five Oscars, including best picture and best sound.
Fifty years later, lead actress Julie Andrews looked back on the blockbuster and told Vanity Fair how it launched her career. “It was the moment in my career where everything exploded,” she said.
