Consumer confidence in Spain increased for the second consecutive month in April, with the index rising to 61.9 from 53.7 in March, the Instituto de Crédito Oficial, or ICO, said Tuesday. Moreover, the index was the highest in a year. A year earlier in April, the confidence indicator stood at 63.8.

During the month, the current situation index climbed to 31.7 from 28.2, while the expectations index jumped to 92.2 from 79.3 in March.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter, the consumer confidence indicator moved up to 50.8 from 49.3 in the fourth quarter.
