Tuesday, a report by Spain's Labor Ministry said the number of unemployed persons decreased by 20,794 from June to 3.54 million in July. Moreover, this was the third consecutive month that unemployment declined.

The general secretary for Employment, Maravillas Rojo said this was the biggest fall in unemployment on a monthly basis since July 2004.

Unemployment declined 0.7% in services, 1.1% in construction, and fell by 1.4% in industry.

Rojo said unemployment data for July encourage us to deal decisively with the challenges of the coming months.
