RTTNews - Industrial turnover in Spain dropped 20.6% year-on-year in March, but slower than a 31.3% fall in February, the National Statistical Institute said Tuesday. This was the eighth consecutive month of decline in the turnover.

During the month, turnover declined in all the sub groups, with the fall ranging between 0.7% and 48%.

During the January-March period, industrial turnover was down 27.7% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the new orders in industry dipped 28% year-on-year in March compared to a 31.9% decline in the previous month. New orders also declined for the eighth consecutive month in March. Most sub groups showed double-digit falls in the month, however, non-durable consumer goods showed an increase.

In the three months ended March, new orders were down 30.5% compared with the corresponding period in the previous year.
