RTTNews - Wednesday, Spain's National Statistics Institute said the consumer price index or CPI declined 0.9% year-on-year in May after falling 0.2% in April. The annual decline in the CPI was the third in a row and the biggest since the series started in 1962. Meanwhile, economists had forecast a fall of 0.8%. The CPI stood flat on a monthly basis.

The harmonized consumer price index or HICP fell 0.9% annually, revised from the 0.8% fall estimated earlier. The HICP recorded zero growth over the previous month.
