The Spanish government managed to sell 6.61 billion euros of debt maturing in 2016, 2019 and 2022, exceeding the target of 4.5 billion euros.

The demand was much higher as the bid to cover ratio for the 2016 bills rose to 3.24 times from 1.71 times in the prior auction, while the ratio also surged to 2.17 times for the 2022 notes relative to 1.54 times in November's auction.
