Unemployment in Spain rocketed in the first quarter to 20.1% from 18.8% in the fourth quarter, above forecasts of 19.8%. Spain now have the highest unemployment rate in the euro zone in addition to the swelling budget deficit which is raising concerns that the economy will take longer time to recover and reduce the huge debt. Last year, Spain's budget deficit reached 11.2% of GDP and is predicted to remain above 5% in 2013.
