“Speechless” was one of the several shows honored at last night’s 2017 Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards.

According to TVLine, the ABC comedy took home the trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming, beating its fellow nominees Disney Junior’s “Doc McStuffins,” Disney Channel’s “Elena of Avalor,” HBO’s “Sesame Street” and PBS’ “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and “Odd Squad.”

Shortly after the winners were announced, “Speechless” star John Ross Bowie took to Instagram to thank the Television Critics Association for the award and express his gratitude to all the critics who have supported the show since it was launched last September. Bowie, along with his co-stars Mason Cook, Micah Fowler and Cedric Yarbrough, attended the awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Filming for Season 2 of the Scott Silveri-created series is set to start next week. According to Cook and Fowler’s recent social media posts, shooting for the new season will begin on Monday, Aug. 7.

The cast, which also includes Minnie Driver and Kyla Kennedy, had their first official table read earlier this week.

Plot details about Season 2 are being kept under wraps, but Driver told the Los Angeles Times last April that viewers might learn more about her character Maya outside of her relationship with JJ (Fowler). “Going forward there will have to be,” Driver said when asked if there’s going to be storylines about who Maya is outside of her relationship with her eldest son.

“We haven’t really explored who Maya’s family is,” Driver continued. “We’ve known some of Jimmy’s (Bowie) family. I think there’s a lot to be mined out of that [like] what she was on the path to do before she found herself pregnant and then gave birth to child who has a severe disability. Do we return to some of that? Do we try to find that as JJ becoming more independent? Does Maya get her previous life? I don’t know. [But] I’m imagining, yes [because] these are all conversations we had and continue to have.”

“Speechless” Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
