Tom Holland is getting ready for his role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) new Spider-Man. Although the character will most likely be masked for most of the wall-crawler’s intense stunt work, that hasn’t stopped the actor from adopting some of the hero’s signature moves.

Holland, who landed the part of Peter Parker in June, has been hard at work hitting the gym and learning some of the acrobatics that make the character’s comic book counterpart such a force to be reckoned with amongst villains. Holland posted a new video to his personal Instagram account in which someone films him training at the gym -- and his moves are pretty impressive. Despite his first appearance in “Captain America: Civil War” not coming until May 2016, the actor seems like he’s in full origin story mode. Holland’s Instagram page was recently the subject of “Spider-Man” news after he posted a mirror selfie showing off not only his new muscles from training for the role, but a new haircut that Comic Book Resources notes is strikingly similar to the cut the Peter Parker character wears in Disney XD’s hit children’s cartoon, “Ultimate Spider-Man.”

While the 19-year-old actor’s moves in the recent Instagram video are impressive, he didn’t exactly start from scratch. According to ScreenRant, one of the main things that landed Holland the role in the first place was his pre-existing athletic abilities. This isn’t the first time he’s posted videos of himself doing some impressive stunts on Instagram. Perhaps the new Peter Parker is a bit of a parkour enthusiast.

With Holland’s acrobatic abilities going without question or critique, the next thing on everyone’s minds is when exactly the character will be introduced. At the moment, the actor looks screen-ready, but there’s still a lot of time before his expected debut in “Civil War” and even more time before his version of the web-slinger gets a standalone movie all his own in 2017.
