NFL Power Rankings: Week 4

Intertouchceptiondown. That is the only word I can think of after what transpired in Week 3 of the NFL seasons. I promise to not bring up the 'refeerees' in this one, beacause football is the ultimate team game, and despite what many say, one call impacts the outcome of the game but will never decide it.

The most surprising 0-3 team? The Saints. The most surprising 3-0 team? The Cardinals. Both officially deserve where they will end up in the Week 4 Power Rankings. This upcoming week of games will serve as a seperation week for some teams, Giants and Eagles, and an ultimate test for others, Jets and 49ers.

Without further adieu. Rank 'em time

NFL Referees Labor Dispute: Enough is Enough; Fans Need to Act NOW!

There is no need to go over the outrageous situation going on in the NFL. Inexperienced, incompetent officials make a mockery of the game. So much for the integrity of the brand, right Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner and mouthpiece for the league owners. It is very clear that the NFL team owners do not care at all about what the fans, customers, supporters, advertisers, and their own head coaches think. Their product is soiled, if it were a food product, it would be rancid.

It is time for the people to get real. Just a few simple acts by us poor masses will hit where it hurts…their pockets.

Arizona Cardinals Vs Philidelphia Eagles: Five Things We Learned From Cardinals Victory

For the third time in as many week's, the Arizona Cardinals entered their game as underdogs. For the third time in as many weeks, the Cardinals saw off their opponents, and sent a message to their doubters.

By starting the season 3-0, for the first time since 1974, the Arizona Cardinals are forcing the league to take notice. Any lingering doubts about if the team are the real deal were put firmly to rest when the Cardinals demolished the Philadelphia Eagles 27-6.

The result gave both Cardinals fans and detractors a lot to chew on, and here are the five biggest things we learned.

1. The Cardinals Defense is an Elite Unit.

For a while now, people have been paying attention to Ray Horton's unit, but most have stopped short of calling them elite, and even fewer would dare suggest that they are in contention to be named the top defense in the NFL.

Well, I'm just gonna come right out and say it. Their defense is elite, and may just be the best in the NFL right now.

Seahawks-Packers Decision: Awful Officials Are REFeredum On NFL

“We the jury in the above entitled action find the defendant Orenthal James Simpson not guilty of the crime of murder.”

Those were the words uttered by the jury delivering the verdict at the OJ Simpson trial, Oct. 3, 1995 inside a packed California Superior Courtroom.

On Monday Night Football, in front of 67,000 Seahawks fans and millions at home the NFL’s officials made the Simpson jury look like constitutional scholars. Pete Carroll’s simultaneous touchdown signal after the official’s review mirrored Johnnie Cochran’s post-verdict first pump.

However, despite the dwindling integrity of Goodell’s replacement officials, don’t expect Monday night’s Immaculate Touchception to become the impetus that brings about the original officials return.

Larry Fitzgerald, whose father is a Minnesota sportswriter has been outspoken in his view of the NFL’s replacement officiating this season.

"I just want the integrity of the game to stand the way it's been,' said Fitzgerald. "The reason fans watch the game is because they know that what they're going to see out there is the best competition and play in the world.”

On Monday Night Football the NFL’s officials made the Simpson jury look like constitutional scholars and Pete Carroll’s simultaneous signal of touchdown after the official’s review was the equivalent to Johnnie Cochran’s famous post-verdict first pump.

Officials have been the NFL’s guardians of its turf laws since 1929; tasked with protecting the NFL’s shield. Unfortunately, Packers cornerback Sam Shield doesn’t apply.

However, despite the dwindling integrity of Goodell’s replacement officials, don’t expect Monday night’s Immaculate Touchception to become the impetus that brings about the original officials return.
