Ready For War: The Moment Of Truth Has Finally Arrived For Carl Froch.

The time for talk, is almost at an end.

The final week pf preparation of is well underway for IBF Super-Middleweight Champion Carl Froch for his unification fight with WBA Champion Mikkel Kessler at London's O2 Arena on Saturday (25th May). This is a fight Froch has been craving ever since he lost to the Dane during the 'Super Six' tournament in April 2010. Froch felt that Kessler was the benefactor of a Home decision that night and is keen to resolve the matter on home soil in-front of a sellout crowd of 20,000 fans.

Kessler is a man of his word, he promised Froch that he would come to England and return the favour after his victory in Herning, Denmark. The man known as 'The Viking Warrior' has fought in the United Kingdom before, losing to Joe Calzaghe way back in November 2007. Since that time, Kessler has developed into one of the fiercest fighters on the planet. Fearing nothing, he is a proud fighter who never takes a back step in his fights, sometimes this can be to his detriment, but anything else just isn't in his character.

Republic of Ireland Gear Up For End Of Season Challenges

on May 20 2013 4:29 PM

Republic Of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni, suggested last week that the inclusion of Anthony Pilkington, in what seems like an excessive end of season cluster of matches, could see the utilization of the Norwich City wide man in a restructured midfield formation.

The opportunity {or pressure} to try something different seems to have arisen and Trapattoni implied the type of midfielder Pilkington is would have allowed for a five man midfield with Wes Hoolahan sitting off a lone striker.  But then came today's news that Pilkington's ongoing knee issue meant that rest is to be the best medicine in close season.

Trapattoni will have other options and the opportunity to tinker with the shape of his Irish team isn't lost by the withdrawal of a player who has yet to play for Ireland.  Whether his enthusiasm to wane from the norm though, ensues, remains to be seen.

UEFA Champions League Final: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund

Bayern, runaway winners of the Bundesliga in record time, two time losing finalists in the past three editions and on course for a historic treble and more impressively, thrashed ‘the’ Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate en-route to the final take on Dortmund, who had been unbeaten in the competition until the second leg of their semi-final against Real Madrid (a game they feel they should probably have drawn in the least considering the number of chances they did not convert) are in the final for the first time since 1997 when they won the competition.

If that is not tantalizing enough, Mario Gotze, Dortmund’s star player of the past three seasons will be on his way to Munich next season and reports suggest Robert Lewandowski may follow him as well.

Jose Mouringo News: Mourinho To Leave Real Madrid This Summer - Official!

on May 20 2013 12:16 PM

By the time you are reading this article, the press conference being set up by Real Madrid for 19.00 hours GMT will probably have started, so to save you the wait, I can tell you that it has already been agreed by the two parties that Mourinho can leave this summer. The stumbling block previously has been that he has another year left on his contract, so sacking him would cost Real Madrid about £5.5m. They obviously want to avoid that, but they also know that Mourinho is desperate to leave and go to Chelsea, so a compromise deal has been put in place, whereby he can leave on the 3rd June after the last two La Liga matches have been played, but there will not be any compensation paid.

Mourinho has been touted for a return to Chelsea for most of this year and results at Real Madrid have not been at the level expected. Indeed, the miserable performance in the Copa Del Rey against their Madrid rivals, Atletico, merely underlines the paucity of the performances Real have produced this season, having lost the league title by a landslide to Barcelona.
