Arsenal are on the hunt for a striker in the January transfer window and with many strikers linked with the club, Newcastle's Senegalese striker, Demba Ba is the first to actually respond and issue a "come and get me plea" to the Gunners.
Earlier this month, the forward - who has scored 11 league goals in 18 appearances this season - spoke to Canal + saying, “I have nothing to say about those speculations [with Arsenal]. Nothing has happened. The media know Arsenal need another striker and they know about my release clause. They need to make their own mind up about it. Arsenal are one of those teams who makes you dream.”
Newcastle manager, Alan Pardew added to the speculation by stating that he was unsure of Ba's future at the club. “It would be disappointing for Demba to leave in this window for this club and for his team-mates, but the decision will be his because that clause is there.”
And to add a new twist to the saga, Ba spoke again yesterday, this time to RMC mentioning how PSG were his favorite club but once again, talking about Arsenal. "Its true I'm a fan of PSG. Of course I'd like to play in the colours of a team that I support. But as I've said with Arsenal, it is still far away. For now I am focusing on what I need to do for my club - Newcastle."
It seems Ba may be on the move this January given the recent quotes as he is available for a cut price £7m due to a clause in his Newcastle contract - a potential bargain for any interested club, including Arsenal and their manager, Arsene Wenger who always loves a bargain.
