Nuri Sahin, the much talked about midfielder was today at Arsenal's London Colney Training ground, with the rest of the first team.
Sahin, who was widely tipped to join Liverpool this summer on loan, has gone against his Agent's and Manager's wishes in a shock turn -around to join the Arsenal, with the option for Arsene Wenger to purchase him at the end of the full-season loan.
Sahin has struggled to fight his way into the Real Madrid first team and spent much of last season on the sidelines, rarely making a start.
The Turkish international is indeed a world-class player, and it is thought that he is being bought to the Gunners as a replacement for Alex Song, who is currently in Barcelona, agreeing personal terms with the La Liga side. Song is thought to have been sold due to his negative atmosphere and impression in the Arsenal squad, turning up late for training and without putting effort in.
This summer we're seeing the "no non-sense" side of Wenger, with his deals being completed quickly, and without him letting the team slip below it's incredibly high standard.
Sahin rejected both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs to join the Gunners.
With the introduction of Sahin, the Gunners' midfield is now stronger than ever, Abou Diaby now nearly at full fitness and Jack Wilshere back at the end of September. Santi Cazorla showed how good he really is on Saturday's game against Sunderland, creating many of the chances as well as taking a few himself. Both Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky are still going to be playing a major part in the first team, and these new signings are adding much more quality and depth. Arsenal's midfield is truly one of the best in the Premier League.
