Ligue 1 side Rennes has recently confirmed that they have received a bid from a top Premier League side for Defensive Midfielder M'Villa.

M'Villa has been linked with Arsenal a lot over the past summer, and according to the newspapers, has been for a medical every other day. Arsenal has shown interest in this top quality player, and it has been reported that they have agreed personal terms with the player already, but no official confirmation from either side.

Throughout the summer it has become increasingly likely that M'Villa will make the move to the Emirates, with the player himself expressing his fondness and admiration of the Arsenal way of football.

However, North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs, have shown more and more interest in the Rennes mid-fielder, and with the Spurs board giving Andre Villas-Boas a rather large budget to re-build and re-structure the club, it really will boil down to where M'Villa would like to go, and seeing as Arsenal will be playing Champions League football next season, whereas Spurs are only in the Europa League, it would appear that Arsenal are the more attractive of the two options.

It must be said though that a "top premier league side" could be any team within the top 6, and without confirmation, we can only speculate.
