Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Players linked with the Emirates

Nuri Sahin

Real Madrid's midfielder Nuri Sahin was yesterday asked by the Arsenal to delay his decision on whether or not to move to Liverpool on loan, on the back of the possibility of Alex Song moving to Barcelona.

The obvious choice for Sahin would be Arsenal (if it is offered) due to the promise of Champions League football next season, rather than the Europa League football that Liverpool are offering.

Sahin the German-born Turk is keen to make a loan move to the Premier League this summer, due to only getting a total of 10 appearances for Jose Mourhino's team in the 2011/12 season.

Sahin moved to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in 2011, signing a 6year contract.

Sahin would be the perfect replacement for Alex Song, even if it is on a one year loan.  An incisive passer, Sahin's ability to play a killer ball marks him out from his peers. His vision is excellent and can dictate the tempo of the game. Also an excellent dead ball specialist, he would be a great all-round addition to the Gunners.

Lucas Biglia

Biglia, currently residing in Anderlecht, is a very strong midfielder, and again being tipped as an Alex Song replacement. Standing at just under 6ft tall, he is extremely strong in a challenge, and is very technically gifted. Arsenal's style of football would suit him perfectly, playing flowing football and passing their way to goals, Biglia could settle in at the Emirates very well.

Biglia has been on Arsene Wengers radar for a long time now, and a move could be imminent. The price tag set on this 26-year-old DM is just £8million, putting him perfectly in Wengers sights.

Looking for another club anyway, Biglia could be welcomed into the Emirates on a permanent deal if Alex Song decides to make his move to La Liga BBVA.

Captain Vermaelen

On the back of van Persies exit to Manchester United, Arsene Wenger has appointed Thomas Vermaelen the new captain of Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta vice captain. Arsenal's number 5, having cracked his way into the first team after a year plagued with injuries, had a very successful season and became one of the first name's on the team sheet. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish him luck, and have a very successful season yet again.

Arsenal's main man in midfield Arteta, the new vice captain, is exactly the person right for the job. He carries great team spirit, and is one of Wenger's right hand men, along with Vermaelen. He also, despite the new midfielder Cazorla, will hope to have another great season with the Gunners.

Next Season Expectations:

This season, it looks as if Arsene Wenger means business. Getting deals done in the transfer market quickly and efficiently, as well as re-shaping the club, looks as if Arsenal really will be in contention for honours next season, this is a much desired premise for the fans, after a 7 year trophy drought.

Arsene's glasses are on, so here comes the silverware.
