Champions League Knockout Draw: Manchester United vs. Real Madrid, Ronaldo Is Coming Back Home

Champions League never disappoints as it proved again today. It was the day everyone had been waiting for – the draw for knockout stage of the Champions League.

Manchester United vs Real Madrid – the highlight of the draw.

It is a tie which everyone dreamt of but none of them wanted it to happen so early.

The two football giants have been tied together for a breathtaking contest to enter into the next stage of the Champions league. Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho would want to rejuvenate his days as a Porto manager celebrating on the touchline of Old Trafford in 2004 and Sir Alex Ferguson will look to delete those bad memories forever.

Real Madrid are the current Spanish champions but they have been struggling this season and are currently sitting at the third place 13 points behind the leaders Barcelona.

Contrary to them, Manchester United who finished second last year on goal difference have been in superb form lately against all the odds and are sitting 6 points clear atop the league.

Nonetheless, the supreme attraction point of this tie is the homecoming of one of the hottest superstars of Manchester United, none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former United man played 6 years for the red devils from 2003-2009  during which Sir Alex Ferguson transformed this young lad into the best football player of the world. Since leaving the club in 2009 for a record transfer of 80 million pounds, Ronaldo has never played against his former club. He would be ecstatic to come back home even if he is on the opposite side.

"Oh yes, Madrid!! What a great couple a games that'll be!! @Cristiano see u soon bro!!," tweeted United's former England captain Rio Ferdinand.

Akin to Rio Ferdinand, all the Manchester united fans have been waiting from ages to see Ronaldo play again at the Theatre of dreams – Old Trafford. They’ll be welcoming their former hero similar to the way they greeted David Beckham in 2009-10 during his homecoming for the champions league clash when he was playing with AC Milan.

Sir Alex Ferguson too looks to be excited about the tie. "Well, it's the tie of the round," the manager told ManUtd.com. "It's a great opportunity for our fans to see Cristiano again and also for me to meet up with Jose again - I'll need to order some good wine!"

Amid all the excitement and craziness this tie has bought among the fans, it is surely going to be one of the greatest encounters we have witnessed for a long long time.

Who will win – The brilliance of Cristiano Ronaldo or the Duo of Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie????????
