Weeks after winning a surprising Champiosn League title. Roberto di Matteo has signed a two year contract with Chelsea Football Club. Before, di Matteo was given the full backing of owner Roman Abramovich, however, despite his success, the 42-year old manager was not even considered the favorite for Chelsea's permanent position.  The Blues were also reportedly pursuing former Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola.

This will certainly be seen as a reward for the Champions League and FA Cup win last season as Di Matteo was appointed the interim first team coach after the disastrous Andre Villas Boas reign that lasted a little over half a year. With exciting players like Eden Hazard and Marko Marin already signed on for next season, Di Matteo might look to add the likes of Hulk and Jovetic to the mix. With the exit of Jose Bosingwa, a right full back is also high on Chelsea's wish list.
