Chelsea are just a few steps away from completing the signing of Wigan attacker Victor Moses, which would suggest an end to the pursuit of Porto's Brazilian star Hulk right?
Maybe not. There are reports that Chelsea is still in negotiations for Hulk, as they have been since the start of the summer and a deal could still be agreed after the Olympics.
Chelsea want players for a couple more positions, that is what was stated by Chief Exectutive Ron Gourlay. It has been wrongly suggested that this means Chelsea are signing two more players. 'Players for a couple more positions' could mean more than two players.
Chelsea has reportedly been speaking with Porto regarding a deal for Hulk even though there have been many complications. Hulk certainly wants to join the European Champions.
Moses and Hulk play in the same positions, but Chelsea wanted cover and support for Fernando Torres in centre forward, both these players can play there, as well as on the right wing. Both players however, offer completely different assets.
Chelsea have struggled down the right hand side, so with the arrival of two right sided attackers, as well as Cesar Azpilicueta, this would solve the problem.
I'm speculating, but I truly believe that even if Chelsea do sign Victor Moses, this might not mean the end of Hulk, there will be some deadline day drama surrounding the Hulk deal.738507
