With Chelsea seemingly looking defeated in the Hulk from Porto deal, it looks like their new number one target Edinson Cavani could now be involved in a swap deal incorporating Chelsea's Portuguese international midfielder Raul Meireles.

Napoli striker Cavani is said to be considering his future and wants to play for the European Champions to get a shot at some silverware. The 25-year-old Uruguayan international has been on Chelsea's radar for sometime now and owner Roman Abramovich is looking to make his move.

Napoli have declared their interest in Chelsea's midfielder, former Liverpool man Raul Meireles, who looks to be out of favour at Stamford Bridge this coming season with the influx of young quality new signings such as Oscar Dos Santos and Eden Hazard.

£9 million rated Meireles would consider a move to Napoli as his Chelsea future seems in doubt and the two clubs will now look to negotiate a deal with either players swapping clubs.

Napoli have agreed to let Chelsea negotiate with Cavani and have also dropped their asking price to around half of what they first quoted. Chelsea could now have their man for £30 million which has made Abramovich and Chelsea officials react.

29-year-old Meireles has only been at Chelsea for one season but it looks like he could now be used as bate for Chelsea to land their man and solve their striker shortage. Didier Drogba left and now Romelu Lukaku is seemingly leaving on loan, it's an area they look to strengthen.
