Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez looks to have a whole host of names on his January sale shopping list, with The Blues already said to be in talks with Newcastle United striker Demba Ba, they are also looking at further options in the shape of Spanish international Fernando Llorente.
The striker has confirmed on Sunday that he will be leaving his Serie A club Athletic Bilbao and it has been reported by a number of media sources that Chelsea are showing a great interest in the 27-year-old front man.
Llorente refused to talk about his next club but he did confirm that his next move was in the hands of his representatives. It is alleged that he is keen to play in the English Premier League, putting on alert a number of clubs as well as Chelsea, including Liverpool and Arsenal.
Under fire Blues striker Fernando Torres is an international team mate of Llorente and the strikers have often replaced each other in the Spanish line up. The two could well be also swapping places in their domestic clubs come January.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to get his cheque book out once again with his desire to succeed being at an all time high. The London club have been missing a real target man this season and Abramovich is desperate to give Benitez the correct amunition to triumph in all competitions.
His number one target Radamel Falcao has confirmed that he will not be leaving until the summer, so in the meantime they will have to seek other options in their search for goal scorers.
