Every summer always seems to involve one huge speculative summer transfer, last year we had the 'Hulk saga' where Brazilian International attacker was all set for a move to London in the shape of Chelsea, but with The Blues refused to pay his high asking price the striker then went on to join rich Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.
This season see's the ever changing saga of Napoli forward Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan striker is being targetted by Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea, as well as the reigning La Liga Champions Real Madrid. It could potentially be a mouth watering prospect for any one of those clubs.
We know Cavani wants to leave and will most likely go this summer despite claims that Napoli want him to stay. Having said that, there are reports circulating on Monday that Napoli are already lining up his replacement, in the shape of Brazilian goal poacher Leandro Damiao, who is also a target for English side Tottenham Hotspurs. Sources within Napoli have also stated that it will be better for the club if Cavani stayed away from the Premier League.
We have also had reports of Cavani's Mother and Father both stating that their son is going to different clubs, Real Madrid and Manchester City. Take that with a pinch of salt, these things always happen and to be honest it can change right up until the last minute, it all depends on which club is prepared to match the players high buyout clause of £53 million. Chelsea have reportedly already had a deal rejected that involved player plus cash, with Fernando Torres allegedly being the player offered. Whether Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to offer the full amount of money to activate his clause, remains to be known.
The only certain fact at the moment, is that Cavani is currently featuring for Uruguay in The Confederations Cup in South America and he his future will not be sorted out until that finishes.
