According to De Telegraaf, new Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho will contact Vitesse Arnhem midfielder this week, in an attempt to get the youngster to join Chelsea. 

The 20-year old has been the subject of a £15 million chase by Chelsea and Manchester United with both clubs wanting to secure the services of the highly rated youngster. Van Ginkel is a sought after prospect, Mourinho knows that and apparently will attempt to convince him to sign with his club. 

United also have a new Manager is the shape of David Moyes and reports suggest that he is also a keen admirer of Van Ginkel and will attempt to hijack the deal and bring him to Old Trafford. Moyes figures his midfield is the main area he needs to strengthen this season if his new club are to compete once again for the top trophies in football.

The player has two more years left on his contract with Vitesse, but the club have a very close relationship with Chelsea having used many of their younger prospects on loan contracts previously, including both Tomas Kalas and Patrick Van Aanholt last season. The youngster told Sky Sports regarding his future "I now have a vacation and I'll concerntrate on that, after my holiday we will see, maybe!"

Chelsea have already added to their squad in the shape of German International Andre Schurrle, but with Mourinho at the helm and Roman Abramovich's financial backing, you can expect a couple more new faces before the season begins.
