According to reports in Spain today, Manchester City are wieghing up a £25 million offer for Real Madrid hitman, Gonzalo Higuain.

City manager Roberto Mancini had been targetting Robin Van Persie, but he has since said he does not want a move to City, thus Mancini turning his attentions to the 24-year old Argentine international.

Madrid manager Jose Mourinho would not be keen to let Higuain go, who has four years remaining on his contract. But Mourinho is interested in City striker Eden Dzeko, so if a deal happens, it will see Dzeko going to Spain as part of the deal.

It will be a tough deal to pull off, but City have flexed their financial muscles before, and could they be about to tempt the La Liga Champions with another lucaritive offer?
