Manchester City Transfer News: Maicon Completes His Move To City

According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan have confirmed that 31-year-old right back Maicon, has joined Robert Mancini's Manchester City squad.

A deal that has somewhat crept up on us, see's the Brazilian international full back surprise most pundits and supporters by heading to Manchester to play as part of a City squad in the Premier League this season.

Even though Inter have confirmed the deal, City are yet to confirmed it. The deal however, is said to be for a fee in the region of £5-£8 million. 

Maicon was a wanted man during this summers transfer window, with both Chelsea and Real Madrid coming close to signing the Brazilian. Chelsea pulled out of a deal due to his high wage demands and Jose Mourinho's Madrid lost interest as well.

Leaving it open for the reigning Premier League Champions to add Maicon to their already impressive array of talent. Maicon will join some of the biggest names in football this season and will envy his chance to perform in the English league. 

City are looking busy during this deadline day, expect more new signings to be announced during the day with Mancini already confirming that they were confident of making 5 signings before the window shuts at 11pm on Friday evening.

Scott Sinclair and goalkeeper Richard Wright have joined fellow new boy Jack Rodwell already in what has been a fairly quiet transfer window for City, until now.

Maicon comes with bags of experience at club level and at international level. He will offer a composed stature at the club that will only work in Mancini's favour whilst in pursuit of the Champions League and Premier League trophies.
