MANCHESTER DERBY : Manchester City Outplays Manchester United, The Title Race Is On

  on April 08 2013 5:21 PM

Yet another miserable 90 minutes of football end for Manchester United. The Red Devils should really thank the 15 point lead they gained due to the  early performance in the season because the way they are playing at the moment doesn’t even deserve them the top 4 spot.

The Manchester derby was yet another example where the blue half of Manchester totally exposed the red half and closed the gap to 12 points. The so called best attack force of Europe has not been able to score even a single goal for the last 3 matches including 1 from the FA cup loss against Chelsea. Robin Van Persie has gone to sleep being totally ineffective from the last 10 matches, Wayne Rooney has had a terrible season full of injuries, Danny Welbeck is no goal scorer and Javier Hernandez doesn’t at all get a game where he could score.

The back four in this passion filledderby were totally lost except Phil Jones who was the best player for the red devils on the pitch. David Silva, Yaya Toure, James Milner and Carlos Tevez never faced a problem and penetrated the United 18 yard box as per their wish. The continuous and highly unsuccessful long passing by the United back 4 clearly depicted  the helpless condition of the their central midfield area. There is no one to control the game in the centre, hold the ball, make some moves and attack into the box unlike what David Silva and Yaya Toure does for Manchester City. Michael Carrick just defended and the veteran Ryan Giggs was the worst player this evening also cost United the first goal.

All and all, Sir Alex Ferguson should now ensure that his men do not repeat the climax of 2011-2012 season because the way they are playing, everything looks possible. Its time for the hair dryer treatment so that players wake up of their sleep and after losing their dream of a treble and then even the double, atleast the Premier league title should be held strong. Lets expect the red devils to show what they really are and seal the title in few coming weeks to bring the trophy back to the red Manchester.
