As expected, Sir Alex has shuffled the pack again, having played only two days ago at Sunderland in the Premier League victory. Here is the team to play today against Chelsea:-

De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Nani, Hernandez, Welbeck. Van Persie is on the bench.

Surprisingly, Wayne Rooney is left out altogether again and it is likely that he picked up a minor injury playing for England. Of course, Sir Alex is mindful of the big game coming up next Monday against fierce rivals, Manchester City, at Old Trafford, so he is probably keeping Rooney extra fresh for that match.

By a strange twist of fate, if Manchester United wins today against Chelsea, they will play Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The match will be played at Wembley. With there being still 15 points between Manchester United and their nearest rivals, Manchester City, Roberto Mancini sees the FA Cup as the best possible chance they7 have of some silverware this season, having been eliminated from the Champions League at the group stage. Manchester City was bottom of their group, so they did not even qualify for the Europa League, so the FA Cup is their only realistic chance.

Today`s quarter-final match is at Stamford Bridge having drawn at Old Trafford. The match kicks off at 12.30pm GMT.
