Manchester United is poised to go 15-points clear of Manchester City on Saturday in the Premier League as they play against the league`s bottom team who are struggling against relegation.
What makes this more intriguing is that Manchester City has a difficult match against the club that sits just behind them in third place, Chelsea. This match could not have come at a more difficult time for City and coach Mancini, as he faced questions about his future from the press today at his pre-match press conference. Manchester United plays against QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon, whilst City has to wait until Sunday before they play Chelsea.
Should it ensue that United are 15 points ahead with just 11 games left which would equate to them having to lose six of those games and City to win every game for them to overtake United. That is because United have a superior goal difference this year, something which cost them the title last season. As if to compound matters, United`s next three games after tomorrow are all against teams near the bottom of the league table. It is possible that United could win the title in the game against Manchester City in April.
Team news for tomorrows clash suggests that Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones and Paul Scholes will be unavailable, whilst QPR will be missing their top striker, Loic Remy. Whilst United can easily cope with their large squad, QPR will desperately miss Remy and things look bleak for the West London club.
By tea time in the UK, United could be that little bit nearer winning back the trophy they cherish above all others.
