Manchester United skipper got a boost this weekend when their skipper Namanja Vidic’s agent Silvano Martina confirmed that the Serbian has categorically ruled United exit. Vidic has long been a summer target for top European clubs especially from Italian Champions Juventus and Spanish Giants Barcelona.

The Serbian defender who will turn 31 this month has missed most of last season’s campaign and eight weeks of this season due to injury.

Speaking about Vidic’s future with, Martina said “Vidic is already part of a top club and there are no negotiations with Juventus or Barcelona”

"Vidic is not playing at this time because he's had surgery, so he's only thinking about his recovery and not about the transfer market. Juventus are complete with their non-EU players for this season and it is highly unlikely they will make a bid for Vidic, therefore I can categorically rule out any interest from them” Martina went on to add.

Vidic has been vital in United’s success in the last few years. With Rio Ferdinand not being consistent and with lack of pace, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones out with injury and Jonny Evans being the only first choice central defender, the Serbian’s absence will hurt Sir Alex Ferguson.
