Manchester United have confirmed they have terms of transfer for Japanese International Shiniji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund. The deal will be completed by end of June as Kagawa needs to complete his medical and get a UK work permit.
"Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed to terms with both Borussia Dortmund and Shinji Kagawa for his transfer to the club," said a United statement.
"The deal is subject only to the player medical and obtaining a UK work permit. These conditions are anticipated to be completed by the end of June. Further details will be announced in due course."
Sources claim that medical and work permit for the Japanese International would be just a formality procedure.
Kagawa scored 16 goals last term, when Dortmund completed the domestic league and cup double. Kagawa was at Old Trafford after the end of the season and met Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson and his assistant Mike Pheelan were present during Dortmund's 5-2 German Cup triumph over Bayern Muncih where Kagawa scored the first goal. Ferguson has long been an admirer of the Japanese International.
Kagawa is currently on International duty and played in Japan's 3-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Oman last weekend.
United Defender Rio Ferdinand was the first one to wish Kagawa well on Twitter.
"Welcome to Shinji Kagawa for his transfer to Man Utd. "Here's to a succesful time here bro!" Ferdinand said.
