Manchester United Transfer News: Alex Ferguson Ready To Make Usain Bolt A United Player

Manchester United's manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to give Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt his dream shot at playing for the Premier League side.

Bolt will get his chance next summer when United face Real Madrid in a charity friendly match and Ferguson will see how he gets on and take it from there. In an interview with Inside United, Ferguson told supporters "Usain's a character and a big United fan. It's interesting he said he'd like to play in the charity game.

He went on to say how it could be the chance he is waiting for, stating "It could be brilliant, and next year when we play Real Madrid legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does".

This brings exciting news for the super fast 100m and 200m Gold medallist. Previously confirming his desire to play for United stating that if Ferguson offered him a trial he'd jump at it, and he was being deadly serious.

United defender Rio Ferdinand also seemed to back the idea, saying on his twitter page that he'd 'talk to the boss' regarding Bolt's requested trial, in a succession of banter exchanged between the two athletes.

Bolt considers himself a very good football player and believes he has the ability to do a decent job for Ferguson. He has played regular football during his time and recently joined in a local 6-a-side match, where he tore apart the opposition.

It's all set to become one of the biggest stories in football's history if the impossible happens and this Olympian becomes a professional footballer for one of the best teams in Europe.
