Manchester United target Victor Wanyama has alerted top European clubs after rejecting an offer to sign a new contract with Celtic’s.
Wanyama joined the Scottish side in summer 2011 from the Belgian side Beerschot. The 21-year-old made a huge impact after joining Celtic which caught eyes of top European clubs. Along with United, City rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are tracking the player.
Wanyama’s agent Rob Moore confirmed that Celtic’s deal was not up to the player’s expectation while speaking to STV. Moore said: “Victor has informed Celtic the contract offer fell short of his expectations. There were a number of aspects that fell short - he turned it down “
“'He is very happy with the job he is doing at the moment. He is a great professional and his commitment cannot be questioned. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that he lost great earning potential in the summer” Moore went on to add.
English side Queens Park Rangers did try to sign the Kenyan International for £8m during the last summer transfer which was rejected by the Scottish club. After having a promising career with Celtic, the player could weigh up much higher in the January transfer if the club decides to let him go.
The 21-year-old Kenyan International could be on his way out of Scotland before making a move to England during the January transfer window. The player’s agent did confirm that Wanyama is happy at his current club and is enjoying his time with his current Employers.854316
