According to talkSPORT, Kevin Strootman could be one step closer to a move to Old Trafford after his agent added fuel to the speculation fire.
Said Chiel Dekker:
"My client could leave in January? Absolutely not. There's nothing in that," he told Calciomercato in Italy.
"We are only in October - the only thing I can say is to call me back in May."
Manchester United's purported interest in Strootman is long-standing, so continued rumors regarding the transfer point to a degree of validity.
Teams such as Everton and Braga have highlighted the Red Devils' weakness in the form of a dearth of physicality in the centre of the park. Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher are fine holding midfielders, but lack the presence to stop their companions being overrun.
Strootman is a solid defensive midfielder who can pick a pass without shirking his defensive duties. He's more of a deep-lying playmaker than an out-and-out destroyer, but he uses his size and strength better than anyone United currently have on the books.
Is this PSV Eindhoven midfielder the answer to Sir Alex Ferguson's problems?
