Federicho Macheda, the Italy U-21 International is fed up of not getting a chance in the first team at Manchester United, according to his agent, Giovanni Bia. It was reported that Macheda's agent has issued a "play-him or leave him" plea to Sir Alex Ferguson. While Macheda has spent a lot of time on loan at Italian side Sampdoria and Premier League side QPR in the past, he believes it is time for him to play an impotant role in United's quest for the premier league trophy. Bia goes on to highlight the fact that a 21-year-old footballer would much rather develop his game than sit on the bench. "Federico was requested by German and Spanish teams over the summer, but the English club preferred to keep hold of him."
Given the wealth of attacking options Sir Alex Ferguson has, it is difficult to see how Macheda would get his chance. A move away from Old Trafford does seem to be in the interest of both parties. If United decide to allow Macheda to leave either on loan or a permanent transfer in January, there would be many clubs willing to offer him a chance to show his talent.
