Roberto Mancini and Arsene Wenger have a big task on their hands on Super Sunday. We take a look at other fixtures of the weekend
Swansea vs Newcastle
Newcastle are almost assured of a Europa League spot, but it remains to be seen whether they can go one better and get a Champions League spot. But one thing for sure this season has been a roaring success for Magpies. Same can be said for Swansea who have done exceedingly well for a newly promoted side. Overall an exciting match in prospect.
Newcastle should collect three points and continue their good run.
Sunderland vs Tottenham Hotspur
The Black Cats were outstanding at the Etihad stadium last week having dealt a blow to title contenders Man City. Spurs seem to get their campaign on track with a victory last week. But their recent away form has seen them collect only 2 of the possible 15 points. This fixture has some goals in it with both sides playing free flowing attacking football.
Spurs to prevail in a tight finish.
Bolton vs Fulham
Bolton are on a winning streak having won three consecutive games and have a good chance to make it four. Fulham are poor travelers. If Bolton can secure three points from this game it would lift them a little clear from the relegation zone.
Bolton should take this one.
Chelsea vs Wigan
Chelsea are discovering some sort of form in Champions League and would like to bring it into League. Chelsea are in a race for Champions League and with Arsenal playing Man City on Sunday. The Blues have a chance to regain some lost ground. On the other hand, if Wigan could gain any point out of this game it would be a bonus.
Chelsea all the way in this game.
Liverpool vs Aston Villa
Liverpool would like to end the season on a positive note. And it all starts from Anfield. With a FA cup semifinal looming, wins in the league would bring some confidence to the team. Aston Villa are at 33 points -- five clear above relegation zone. With tougher tests coming up against the likes of Manchester United and Spurs, this game presents an opportunity to gain some points against a team short of self-belief.
Liverpool to finally show some pride and self-belief with a victory in this game.
Norwich vs Everton
Norwich are in a downward spiral with just one victory in six games. Everton have the third best defensive record in the league but they have a poor goal scoring record. Not much goals in this win.
Everton should be favorites with a late goal.
West Brom vs Blackburn
The battle to avoid relegation from the English Premier League shifts to The Hawthorns on Saturday when West Bromwich Albion host Blackburn. Both sides are without a victory in their recent fixtures. This fixture does promise some goals with West Brom prevailing.
Stoke City vs Wolves
Stoke City would breathe a sigh of relief seeing relegation bound Wolves. After a series of defeats against the heavy weights of the league Stoke City have a chance to get back on winning track and what better place than their home ground Britannia Stadium.
This one seems destined for a draw.
Manchester United. Vs QPR
If United win this game they will be eight points clear. With City playing Arsenal later in the day an eiight point gap would mount pressure on their rivals. Facing an in-form United at Old Trafford is a difficult task. Should QPR produce a fight and gain something out of it this will give City a boost but more importantly it will give QPR some more breathing space.
Overall predicting United to go eight points clear.
Arsenal vs Manchester City
"If we lose at Arsenal and United beat QPR, yes" -- Roberto Mancini said the title race could be over. For Arsenal this would mean a step towards securing Champions League spot. A victory for City however would keep them in contention for title race but for Arsenal it could be back to the patchy inconsistent form they have been showing in recent years. A draw is something which would be unacceptable to both the teams.
This should be an open game with plenty of goals. Expect both clubs to feel relieved with a draw.685013
