According to L'Equipe, there are three Premier League clubs who are monitoring the progress of Lille Full Back, Lucas Digne.
The reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, are set to battle it out with the red side of Manchester and the reigning European Champions Chelsea, in an attempt to land the young starlet.
Digne is tipped as a huge talent and has the versatility to play as a left back or as a left sided midfielder. He offers great pace and has the attacking ability as well as being solid defensively. At only 19-years-old he has already made 18 appearances for Lille's first team.
So far it is Chelsea that have shown the biggest interest in the starlet, having started their scouting mission already. United and City are both starting to show gowing interest and will begin their own scouting missions soon.
Digne has started the season as a Lille regular, featuring in all four matches so far. He is beginning to attract unwanted attention from Lille's part, who will be doing everything in their powers to keep the French youth international from the powerful grasp of the Premier League giants.
Chelsea are said to be struggling to tie up an improved contract with current left back Ashley Cole and are only wanting to offer him a 1-year extension, according to reports. They would then see Digne as a versatile backup to Ryan Bertrand with current loanee Patrick Van Aanholt looking at a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.
Digne has been a constant feature at international level through the youth ranks and it is only a matter of time before he breaks into the full senior squad.
