A whole host of clubs are also chasing the hot property, including Manchester United, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain. Isco is very much a wanted man after making another impressive start to the season in La Liga.
City sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old shine in a recent match against Athletico Madrid on Sunday, this was not the first time that City had scouts out for the young starlet. They were also watching Madrid's Radamel Falcao, who they also have a great interest in.
Isco, who recently made his debut for his native Spanish side, has received glowing reports from coaches and pundits wordlwide, sparking rumours that many clubs are ready to match his £16.9 million release clause in his contract.
Malaga's sporting director has also increased the speculation by confirming that his cash strapped side will be willing to let the former Valencia youth product leave, if his clause is met.
City are also chasing Falcao but will face a battle with European Champions Chelsea, amongst other teams, who have a watchful eye on the prolific Colombian international striker.
